Things to Do in Toronto

Want to know some of the standout things to do in Toronto? Then have a look through our handpicked suggestions below...

1. Climb the CN Tower

The CN Tower is right up there with any of the world’s most impressive structures. If the restaurant's a bit pricey for some budgets, then the Skypod Viewpoint (at a dizzying 447 meters) is more affordable, and worth every penny.

2. Hit the Beach… (Only in Summer, though!)

Toronto, like Canada in general, is thought of as a place of arctic weather conditions. But during the summer, temperatures soar, and the locals hit the beaches on either side of the city. To join them, hop on a TTC bus and head out to the attractive (and self-explanatory) Beaches district.

3. Scout Out the Secondhand Shops at Kensington Market

The whole area surrounding Kensington Market, Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street is bohemian, chic and packed with great clothing boutiques, scruffy secondhand shops and cheap eateries.

4. Check out Chinatown

Toronto’s Chinatown is one of the largest in North America. Cheap shops, great food and bright lights abound in this fascinatingly gritty, frequently crowded quarter.

5. The St. Lawrence Food Market

This bustling market - part farmers’ market, part assortment of food stalls - is undoubtedly one of the city’s main draws. Even if you’re not looking to buy anything, this feast for the eyes has more than enough to keep you busy.
