1. Kantanagar Temple, Kantanagar

Located approximately 12 miles from Dinajpur town, the walls of this 18th century temple are covered in stunningly ornate terracotta decorations.

2. The Bangladesh National Museum, Dhaka

This celebration of ancient Bangladeshi culture and recent political history is located in the town of Shahbag and comprised of six departments ranging from art to natural history. With over 44 galleries, the museum is one of the largest in the whole of Asia.

3. Tomb of Sultan Bayazid Bostami, Chittagong

This 10th century shrine is visited by a large number of visitors on a daily basis. The Dargah Mosque, in which the tomb is enclosed, is fronted by a large tank full of turtles and large 'gazar' fish. The turtles are called ‘Mazaris’ and are held to be the descendants of the evil spirits known as 'genii'.

4. The National Memorial, Savar

Located about 35 kilometers from Dhaka, this memorial is dedicated to the hundreds of thousands of unknown casualties of the Bangladesh Liberation War. The war was fought between March and December of 1971 and involved Bangladesh (then East Pakistan), West Pakistan and India.

5. Cox's Bazar Beach

Stretching out along 120 kilometers of coastline, Cox's Bazar is the world's longest beach. Touted as the tourist capital of Bangladesh, there are also several Buddhist temples and a couple of local handicraft markets in the surrounding area worth visiting.
