As Australia’s largest airport, Sydney Kingsford Smith International is naturally a major destination for travelers in Australasia. Fortunately, it's well linked to the city, with the Airport Link taking you into the center in no time, and several alternative bus routes available for good measure.
Having arrived in the city, the best ways of getting around Sydney's inner city attractions are to use the monorail, take a City Circle train or to simply walk. For the sights of Sydney Harbour, buses and ferries are the most convenient option.
The government-run Explorer Buses and the Sydney Pass service are also an inexpensive way to see most of the major tourist attractions. Three-day passes are available and, while they may seem expensive, they offer unlimited bus, ferry and train travel and a free service on the airport link, as well as a discount on several attractions.
There’s also a TravelTen ticket which provides a big discount on bus services. There are different color codes for different distances, so it's a good idea to try and check which is the most appropriate for your journey.
