Every December the Gravity Games showcase daring and gravity-defying sports such as freestyle motor cross and skateboarding. Other events include parachute swooping, wakeboarding, jet skiing and a skateboard vert.
The Gravity Games began in 1997 and have since delivered a spectacular array of top action sports to audiences of over 50,000. Water-based events take place on the Swan River in Perth, and include the highly popular (and high speed!) thundercat races.
The games aim to promote healthier living, and children are allowed to take part in selected sports as well as watching them. The Drug Aware Gravity Challenge focuses on this particular aim, with the chance to participate in BMX and skating events.
