Those flying to Buenos Aires from outside South America will probably arrive at Aeropuerto Internacional Ministro Pistarini (known locally as Ezeiza) which lies to the south of the city. From here, local and special airport buses take around an hour and a half to reach the city center, with the latter normally including hotel drop-offs.
The Aeroparque Jorge Newbery handles the majority of regional and internal flights. Just five miles north of the city, Aeroparque is a convenient place to arrive where possible, with a typical assortment of buses having you in town in no time.
Having arrived in the city, the Retiro bus and train stations are conveniently situated next door to each other. Trains depart to all areas of the city on a regular basis. During the day, though, visitors are unlikely to need to use much public transport due to the proximity of most of the sights.
If transport is required, however, travelers would be well advised to stick to the efficient (if ancient) Subte metro system as the bus network can be confusing in comparison!
