HostelBookers offers free Tango lessons in Buenos Aires
To mark Tango Argentino’s massive revival in the last decade across South America, the US and much of Western Europe, budget accommodation specialists, HostelBookers, are offering free Tango lessons in Tango’s spiritual home of Buenos Aires.
Buenos Aires is a lively, busy and engaging destination, and is a paradise for all budget travellers looking for great nightlife, awesome shopping, cheap Buenos Aires hostels and a place to learn Tango.
Declared “Intangible Cultural Heritage” by UNESCO in 2009, Tango is an integral part of the Argentine culture. For many Argentines the international popularity of Tango Argentino might even have gone a little bit too far: tango schools are appearing everywhere: Paris, Berlin, New York and many other world cities are following that trend.
A Japanese couple won the “Salon First Prize” at the Argentine tango dance world Championship in 2009, much to the embarrassment of the Argentine nation.
HostelBookers has teamed up with renowned tango teachers Constanza Vecslir and Rolando Valdivia to offer the free Tango lessons at “Puro Tango Argentino” in Buenos Aires.
To register to take part in the competition potential participants are requested to become a fan of HostelBookers on Facebook and send an email to email@example.com with their name, preferred date for the lesson and the right answer to the following question:
"In which year was tango declared an intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity?"
The closing date to enter the competition is the 12th March, and the free lessons are valid until the 31st May.
