The Vintage Hostel in Paris is the current favourite amongst customers who have enjoyed 40% off the normal room rates. Breakfast and Wi-Fi are included in the price of £18.29pppn for a private room with en suite facilities.

Other popular destinations over the discount period have included London, Berlin, Venice and Lisbon, with customers looking for bargains in some of Europe’s most cultural cities.

The Meininger Hotel in London offers beds in their 14-person dorms for £15pppn. With views of Hyde Park and a 25% discount, this hotel provides ideal city break accommodation.

There are great deals at the Generator Hostel Berlin. A private twin with en suite has been reduced by 20% and includes breakfast. For £12.89pppn, guests are centrally located between key shopping areas and some of the city’s best nightlife in Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichshain.

The Casa Arcobaleno in Venice offers one-bedroom apartments for £26.12pppn, an opportunity for guests to spend a romantic break in a 19th century palace.

Lisbon Guests, located 3km from the infamous hilltop, Castelo de São, is a favourite with backpackers. Offering free Wi-Fi, no lockout and conveniently situated just 50m from the underground station. Private double rooms here are available from £11.76pppn.

David Smith, Chief Operating Officer for HostelBookers, said “The HostelBookers brand has always aimed to provide its customers with value for money. The January sale has been a huge success, so we have decided to extend it for another month. This good news for our properties, but more importantly it means our customers can directly benefit from the fantastic relationships we have built up in the industry and continue to receive great discounts.”

HostelBookers features more than 17,000 hostels and budget properties in over 3,500 destinations across more than 150 countries.

It is the only major accommodation website in the travel industry that does not apply a service charge – its lowest price guarantee means that prices are on average 5.1 per cent less expensive than other well-known hostel booking companies.
