Istanbul hostels in demand as Turkey is named one of Europe’s ‘cheapest options for a bargain break’

A recent Post Office Worldwide Holiday Costs report has revealed that Turkey is one of ‘Europe’s cheapest options for a bargain break’.

Turkey has emerged as a popular and trendy destination amongst travelers. According to leading budget accommodation provider, HostelBookers, Turkey enjoyed an increase of 39% in bookings and reservations between 2008-2009, compared to a 5% growth in Spain and an average of 9% worldwide.

Bookings and reservations for Istanbul were up by 41% in 2009 and are expected to increase significantly this year, after the city was named the European Capital of Culture for 2010.
While food, drink and merchandise prices are expected to rise, as businesses look to cash in on the expected influx of visitors, HostelBookers has plenty of cheap Istanbul hostel accommodation available for 2010, enabling travelers to save money on lodgings during their visit to Europe’s latest Capital of Culture.
Situated just 5 minutes walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, Antique Hostel Istanbul is a great base from which to enjoy all that this fascinating city has to offer, and with shared accommodation available from just 8 euros a night, represents great value for money.
