Kota Kinabalu makes a great base from which to explore the virgin rainforests of northern Borneo. Nearby Sepliok is home to the 43 sq. km Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, enabling visitors to come in close contact with the remarkable Orang Utan. The centre rehabilitates young orphaned or captive orang utans in the semi wild, before releasing them into the forest. Whilst hiking through the transitional lowland rain forest you may also have the opportunity to see the highly endangered Sumatran Rhinos, and the occasional Elephant.

On Argentina's Patagonian coast, Peninsula Valdes natural reserve was created in 1983. The peninsula gives shelter to land and marine mammals alike - Southern Right Whales, Elephant Seals, Sea Lions, Dolphones and hordes of Magellan’s Penguins hug the shore, and are hunted by Killer Whales.
